Barça loses against Bayern, is eliminated from the Champions League and will play the Europa League

This Wednesday the matches of the sixth journey of groups E, F, G and H of the Champions League. However, the group stage was not over, as the match Atalanta-Villarreal had to be postponed due to the snow which fell in Bergamo (Italy) and will be played this Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

FC Barcelona was eliminated from the Champions League after losing against Bayern Munich (3-0), and what Benfica beat Dinamo Kiev (2-0), got the ticket to the round of 16. Bayern move on to the next phase as the leaders of Group E with 18 points and full of victories, while Benfica finished second with 8 points. Barça, third with 7 points, will play the Europa League. The bottom position went to Dinamo Kiev (1 point).

Too Sevilla was eliminated from the Champions League after suffering the defeat against Salzburg (1-0). Julen Lopetegui’s men will have to settle for the Europa League. In this group G, Lille (11 points) beat Wolfsburg 1-3 and the French team will be seeded in the draw for the round of 16. The Salzburg (10 points) go ahead as second, Sevilla (6 points) was third, and Wolfsburg (5 points) occupied the last position.

In group H Juventus (15 points) achieved first place in the standings after their victory against bottom Malmö (1 point). The Italian team snatched the lead from a Chelsea (13 points) who drew 3-3 against Zenit (5 points). Chelsea will be one of the most difficult rivals in the hype of the second classified in the draw for the next phase. Zenit will play the Europa League.

Manchester United drew 1-1 against Young Boys. The English had already secured the first place in group F, and the Young Boys (5 points) finished as bottom. This Thursday, Atalanta (3rd with 6 points) and Villarreal (2nd with 7 points) will have the last ticket for the round of 16 at stake.
