Zenit responded with an anecdote to the possibility of football player Zelimkhan Bakaev leaving
Chairman of the board of St. Petersburg Zenit Alexander Medvedev responded with an anecdote to the possibility of Russian national team player Zelimkhan Bakaev leaving the team. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
Medvedev said that the team is not used to commenting on the negotiation process, focusing on the result. “It’s like in the joke: “Givi, do you like tomatoes?” I don’t like to eat, but yes, yes,” he shared the joke.
On September 17, insider Ivan Karpov reported in his Telegram channel that Bakaev was close to leaving Zenit on loan. It was noted that the 27-year-old football player should fly to the location of the new club in transit through Moscow.
Bakaev moved to Zenit from Spartak Moscow in 2022. This season, the midfielder played four matches with the team without scoring any goals. He took part in 12 matches for the Russian national team and scored one goal.
