Although Inter Miami CF is not enough this Saturday to maintain their unbeaten record since Lionel Messi’s arrival in the United States, Leonardo Campana signs his second consecutive MLS double.
The Ecuadorian striker, who was not called up to the national team for the first two rounds of the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, scored twice in the away game against Atlanta United at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The Guayaquil striker opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a shot. Perfect left foot shot.
The second goal, a penalty in the 53rd minute, was more spectacular because of the placement of the ball.
After the attack, the Atlanta goalkeeper and Campana got into an argument, which caused the match to be stopped for several minutes.

Despite his team’s setbacks and an unbeaten streak that ended in Atlanta, Leo Campana is having a good time in the United States.
FĂ©lix Sánchez Bas didn’t call him up to Ecuador’s squad for the start of the Conmebol World Cup, but he already has two consecutive MLS matches. The previous weekend, he scored two in Inter Miami’s 3-2 win over Sporting Kansas City.
The 23-year-old center forward has 11 goals this season, 9 in MLS and 2 in the US Open Cup. His teammate Leo Messi has the same number of goals in eleven games.
Last Friday, the club and the Ecuadorian forward announced the extension of the contract until 2027. (D)
