Pedro Rocha will lead the “transition process” in the Royal Spanish Football Federation

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) indicated this Friday, September 15, that Pedro Rocha will lead his “transition process” in the presidency until the next electionsafter the decisions adopted by the board of directors after meeting with the Commission of presidents of Autonomous and Territorial Federations.
“The RFEF wants to publicly show the absolute and real commitment to continue undertaking cessential changes to recover the functioning of the entity. This institution is convinced that transformations are necessary and, therefore, they will be carried out as quickly as possible, progressively,” said the entity that Pedro Rocha currently presides over after replacing Luis Rubiales.
“We must start at the beginning. It is essential to guarantee the future of Spanish football to undertake transformations in a progressive and regain dignity and credibility lost after the events of the World Cup,” said Rocha himself.
The man from Extremadura was elected president of the management committee. “This institution is above people and it is vital that it remains strong. We are going to work tirelessly on this, stabilizing first to progress later,” he stated.
It was also made “a call for dialogue and cooperation in a particularly atypical scenario like the one experienced with the Spanish team,” the RFEF specified in its press release. “The Federation wants reinforce its commitment to the world championsfor which he feels enormous pride,” the text added.
“It is essential that international organizations, the media and society understand this and help us do so. A lot is at stake and we must be aware,” Rocha finally stressed, following the ‘sine die’ postponement of the first call for Montse Tomé as coach of the absolute women’s team.
