The North American Major League Football (MLS) leadership has made changes to its diversity policy in recruiting staff for clubs. The statement is posted on the organization’s website.
The MLS said it has introduced a rule for priority hiring of black candidates. The open position must now have two or more non-white candidates, one of whom must be black. The club will be fined $ 50,000 for the first violation of the new rule, $ 100,000 for the second, and over $ 100,000 for the third and subsequent ones.
In August 2021, scientists at King’s College London and New York University wanted to take advantage of the white pieces in chess. The specialists suggested giving Black pieces two moves in a row after White’s first move.
It is not the first time that athletes have taken action against racism. Footballers around the world are kneeling in the Black Lives Matter movement. BLM members demand systemic change and believe that the murder of African American George Floyd by a police officer is linked to racist prejudice in society.
