Russian Ilya Sorokin was named a candidate for the award for the best player of the NHL season
The Daily Faceoff portal has compiled the top 10 contenders for the Hart Memorial Trophy – the prize for the best player of the season in the National Hockey League (NHL). The rating is published on the website.
Russian New York Islanders goalkeeper Ilya Sorokin was named one of the candidates for the trophy. He is in tenth place in the ranking.
Also among the candidates who were not included in the top ten, three more Russian forwards were highlighted – Nikita Kucherov (Tampa Bay Lightning), Kirill Kaprizov (Minnesota Wild) and Artemy Panarin (New York Rangers).
Previously, Russian players took the first three places in the ranking of the best NHL goalkeepers according to the NHL Network. Sorokin was in third place, second place was taken by Igor Shesterkin, representing the Rangers. The rating was topped by Tampa’s goalkeeper Andrei Vasilevsky.
