The head coach of the Russian national football team, Valery Karpin, commented on the draw in the match with the Qatar team. His words are quoted by TASS.
“I liked the first 20-25 minutes, what I would like to see from the national team for at least 70-80 minutes. And what happened next – we need to figure it out: either the strength leaves, or the concentration. Qatar’s intensity is higher than Zenit’s,” the specialist said.
The meeting between the national teams of Russia and Qatar took place in Al-Wakr at the Al-Janub stadium and ended with a score of 1:1. The first goal was scored in the 70th minute by the hosts’ striker Ahmed Alaeldin. Then in the 89th minute Russian defender Alexander Soldatenkov equalized the score.
On September 11, the Russian team lost to the Egyptian Olympic team in a friendly match. The meeting ended with the score 1:2. The first goal was scored in the seventh minute by striker Sergei Pinyaev. In the 68th minute the score was equalized by midfielder Ahmed Fazi. In the 72nd minute, midfielder Arabi Badr put the Egyptians ahead.
