The Russian national team tied 1:1 with Qatar in a friendly match
The Russian national football team played a draw with the Qatar team in a friendly match. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.
The meeting took place in Al Wakrah at the Al Janoub Stadium, which hosted matches of the 2022 World Cup. The confrontation ended with the score 1:1. The first goal was scored in the 70th minute by the hosts’ striker Ahmed Alaeldin. Then in the 89th minute Russian defender Alexander Soldatenkov equalized the score.
On September 11, the Russian team lost to the Egyptian Olympic team in a friendly match. The meeting ended with the score 1:2. The first goal was scored in the seventh minute by striker Sergei Pinyaev. In the 68th minute the score was equalized by midfielder Ahmed Fazi. In the 72nd minute, midfielder Arabi Badr put the Egyptians ahead.
On February 28, 2022, the International Football Federation and the Union of European Football Associations excluded Russian national teams and clubs from international tournaments. Domestic teams do not compete in European competitions, and the Russian national team was deprived of the opportunity to compete for access to the final part of the 2022 World Cup.
