Russian MMA fighter Alexander Volkov signed a new contract with the UFC
Russian mixed style (MMA) fighter Alexander Volkov signed a new contract with the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC). His manager Ivan Bannikov announced this in a conversation with TASS.
Bannikov did not disclose the details of the deal, but spoke about the athlete’s next opponent. “There are still a lot of fights. As I said before, there are two important issues in the heavyweight division. We need to wait for an answer. Who will win the battle [Джон] Jones – [Стипе] Miocic and what the new or old champion will do with his career,” the manager said.
On September 10, Volkov turned out to be stronger than Australian Tai Tuivasa in the second most important fight of the UFC 293 tournament. The Russian defeated his opponent in the second round by choke.
In total, 34-year-old Volkov has 37 victories and 10 defeats in mixed martial arts. The Russian has been competing in the UFC since 2016.
