Czech hockey player Ronald Knot criticized his compatriots playing in Russia

Czech hockey player Ronald Knot spoke critically about his compatriots playing in Russia. His words are quoted by Sport.cz.

Knot said he was annoyed by the fact that some Czech players continue to play in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). “I have a clear opinion that I don’t want anything to do with this,” he shared.

Earlier, Czech Avangard defender Libor Sulak said that he was threatened because of his work in Russia. He also received calls from representatives of the Czech authorities.

On August 25 last year, the Czech Hockey Federation announced that it would not call up players playing in Russian clubs to the national team.

In February 2022, the International Ice Hockey Federation suspended the Russian and Belarusian national teams from international tournaments. Against this backdrop, many foreign players playing in Russia began to leave the teams.
