Coach Fedchenko said that Gorbacheva left home due to a domestic conflict
Coach Sofia Fedchenko spoke about the reasons for figure skater Alina Gorbacheva leaving home. Her words are quoted by Sport24.
The coach stated that they had a domestic conflict that had nothing to do with sports. “After a long conversation, I outlined to Alina my position regarding her living with me and my guardianship over her. She said that she was not ready to bear responsibility for her life and health if certain rules were not followed,” she explained.
Fedchenko also said that she considers herself to blame for the figure skater’s actions. She added that the situation was resolved by talking with Gorbacheva after her return home.
On the evening of August 28, Gorbacheva, the current champion of Russia in women’s singles skating among juniors, left the skating rink and did not return home. It was clarified that before this she had a quarrel with Fedchenko, with whom she had lived since she was nine years old. The athlete was found on the evening of August 29 in a cinema in one of the shopping centers in Moscow.
