Russian swimmer Anastasia Makarova, who lives and studies in the United States, called the Americans’ advantage over their compatriots. Her words are quoted by Sport24.
“It seems to me that in the USA people are kinder than in Russia. In the southern states, everyone is very kind, calm, and will always say “good morning.” And in the northern states, like in Russia, they can answer sharply, everyone there is in a hurry, they’re late,” said the athlete. She added that the attitude of people in the country varies from state to state.
Makarova won three golds, a silver and a bronze at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games. The athlete also has medals at the World Championship and victories at the European Junior Championships.
