The players of the Athletic Club and of the Grenada CF they have supported the footballers’ strike and they have not shown up for the match on the first day of League F that was going to face them this Saturday in Lezama.

Athletic reported on Friday that it maintained “the necessary infrastructure to hold the match” and “scrupulously fulfilling its duty” and had summoned “all the club’s staff, including the soccer players,” to Lezama for this match.

The red and white entity, however, indicated that it was “aware of this strike call” and that it remains “in permanent contact with the players, respecting the right to strike from the same”.

The unions FUTPRO, AFE, Futbolistas ON, CCOO and UGT had confirmed on Thursday that the players of the F League will strike during the first two days of the competition, the first of which is scheduled for this weekend.

In a statement, the unions considered “unacceptable the final economic proposal of League F” and added that the five unions continue to maintain “a firm proposal regarding the minimum wage that must be applied so that the” Spanish “footballers have salaries commensurate with their talent“.
