Ricardo Centeno disputes the LUX Fight League middleweight belt against Mexican Iván Valenzuela | Other Sports | sports

The two best contenders in that division from all of Latin America will meet in one of the important leagues in Mexico.

Quito martial artist Ricardo Centeno traveled to Mexico on Tuesday to fight for the inaugural title of the LUX Fight League middleweight division against local Iván Valenzuela, this Friday, December 10.

With his nine victories and six defeats in professional mixed martial arts (MMA), Centeno will climb the octagon of the Pepsi Center WTC in Mexico City with the sole mission of returning to the Ecuadorian capital with the monarch belt for that company and affirming his reign in Latin America.

Centeno, ranked number one middleweight in the region, and Valenzuela, ranked second, will star in the main event of the LUX 019 feature.

The tricolor is a dangerous contender, since it has 8 finishes in the first round and arrives in the Mexican capital with three wins in a row.

Valenzuela, meanwhile, has a 7-1-0 fight record and has 6 finishes in the first round. His streak is better than that of Quito with 4 wins in a row.

LUX said that in the 019 event, 22 warriors will participate for a total of 11 fights “in a night of the best MMA in Mexico and Latin America.”

The duel Centeno vs. Valenzuela heads the main event of this Friday that will be broadcast exclusively by UFC Fight Pass starting at 23:00 (Ecuadorian time).

The co-feature fight is between the Mexican Alejandro Martínez (12-4-1) and the Costa Rican Édgar Delgado (8-4-0) in a duel agreed at 150 pounds. (D)
