Tottenham, with six players positive for coronavirus

Up to six Tottenham Hotspur players have tested positive in the weekly Premier League tests, ahead of Thursday’s decisive Conference League match against Stade Rennais.

Along with the six players, whose names the club did not reveal, two other club workers have also tested positive. This has happened in a week in which there have been twelve covid cases in the Premier League, which is a record since mid-August.

Now these people will undergo a PCR to confirm the result, since, since this season, the tests carried out by the Premier are for antigens and, once it is positive, PCR is used to confirm.

Those footballers who after the second test test positive will have to isolate themselves for ten days, which will be a hard blow for Spurs, who this Thursday host Rennes at home.

Tottenham are tied at seven points with Vitesse for second place in their group in the Conference League and, while the Dutch play weak Mura, they will have to contend with group leaders Rennes.

The positives, in addition, would also miss the games against Leicester City and against Liverpool. (D)
