The team’s Italian cyclist INEOS Grenadiers Filippo Ganna ha cattle this tuesday the tenth stage of the Vuelta a España in 2023a 25.8 km individual time trial which has been disputed in Valladolidwhile the team’s American running back Jumbo-Visma Sepp Kuss has managed to keep his first place in the general classification, and continues, in this way, with the red jersey of leader of the race. Ganna won with a time of 27:39, 16 seconds better than the one set by the Belgian from Soudal Quick-Step Remco Evenepoel and 36 seconds better than the one set by the Slovenian from Jumbo-Visma Primoz Roglic; overall, Kuss has a 26-second lead over the Catalan from UAE Emirates Marc Soler and 1:09 on Evenepoel.

It was expected that the time trial, the only individual one of this edition of the Tour of Spain, would mark differences between the favorites to win the test and clarify the situation in the general before the arrival of the high mountains; the truth is that the day has served to certify that some riders, such as Sepp Kuss and Primoz Roglic, teammates, or Marc Soler and Joao Almeida (both from the UAE) are going further, and seem to be in an outstanding moment of form. Remco Evenepoel, current time trial world champion, has not been able to be as strong as suggested, but he maintains a good position in the general classification, where he is third, and could benefit from the battle that could take place in the mountains between the Jumbo and the UAE.

We must underline the excellent time trial signed by the winner, Filippo Ganna, a specialist in this modality. The Italian, two-time world champion and current runner-up, was below Evenepoel in the predictions, but he gave them no choice, and defeated the Belgian and the rest of the cyclists fighting for the general. Ganna has thus claimed his first victory in the Vuelta a España, and has once again made it clear that he is one of the best in the peloton in the time trial stages.

Among the Basque cyclists, the good stage carried out by Jonathan CastroviejoGanna’s teammate, who qualified in twelfth position, 1:24 behind the winner; Mikel Landa (Bahrain-Victorious)who was in fifth place overall before the start, was twenty-eighth, at 2:21, a little less fast than Oier Lazkano (Movistar), twenty-first at 2:02. Landa, now, is eleventh in the general classification, at 3:21, and maintains all the options to finish the Vuelta in a position of honor.
