Karpin called the results of Rostov in the first seven rounds of the RPL a disaster
Rostov head coach Valery Karpin called the team’s results in the 2023/2024 season a disaster. His words are quoted by Match TV.
“Some games were not bad, but globally, the result was a disaster,” the specialist said. At the moment, Rostov is in 11th place in the standings of the Russian Premier League (RPL), scoring seven points in the first seven rounds.
Earlier, on September 3, Rostov lost at home to Dynamo with a score of 1:2, having suffered a third defeat in a row. From the 34th minute, the hosts played with ten men, as Roman Tugarev received two yellow cards and left the field. The only goal against Dynamo in this match was scored by Vyacheslav Grulev, the blue-and-white striker.
Karpin took over as head coach of Rostov in March 2022. He previously worked at the club from 2017 to 2021. The specialist has also led the national team since the summer of 2021. The agreement is valid until August 2024.
