Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev defeated Argentinean Sebastian Baes and advanced to the fourth round of the US Open. This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.
Medvedev won in three sets – 6:2, 6:2, 7:6 (8:6). The opponents spent 2 hours and 34 minutes on the court. In the third set, with the score 5:2 in favor of Baez, the match was interrupted due to rain.

In the fourth round of the US Open, Medvedev will play with Australian Alex de Minor, who is ranked 12th in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings. In the third round match, the latter defeated the Chilean Nicolas Harry with a score of 6:1, 6:3, 6:2.
Another Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev also made it to the fourth round of the US Open. He turned out to be stronger than the Frenchman Arthur Rinderknesh – 3:6, 6:3, 6:1, 7:5.
Medvedev is the third racket of the world. Rublev ranks eighth in the ATP rankings.
The US Open takes place in New York from August 28 to September 10. The prize fund of the tournament this year is a record $65 million.
