From the flat stage back to the mountains, on September 2, Saturday, the eighth stage of the Tour of Spain will once again test the legs of cyclists with nothing less than five mountain passes, each more difficult. will come out of Denia and will travel a distance of 165 kilometers until Xorret de Catí.
After starting with the first 20 flat km, the runners will come across the first mountain pass, the High of Vall D’Ebo, of 2nd category and with an inclination of 5.7%. Soon they will reach Port of Tollos, of 3rd category, to later take advantage of the descent of another 20 kilometers. At that point they will have to face two consecutive ports, both in the 2nd category and with long slopes: the port of benifallin (9.5 km) and the Port of the Carrasqueta (10.9 km). The day will end with the port of Xorret de Catí1st category, with a slope of 11.4%.
The strongest teams will have to control the race, although a breakaway victory is not ruled out since there will already be riders with enough time lost.
