The whereabouts of Gorbacheva, the reigning Russian champion in women’s singles among juniors, has not been known since the evening of August 28. It was noted that she quarreled with coach Sofia Fedchenko, left the rink, went to the park and did not return home. The figure skater’s grandmother later said that the coach, with whom Gorbachev lived, forbade her to communicate with her family.
