The Barcelona SC presidential election, originally scheduled for next Saturday, September 2, will not take place on that day, the Canarian club reported.

This is because the bullfighters were notified this Monday of the written verdict, issued as part of the constitutional process of Protective Action.

The Canaries announced on their official website that the decision suspends the election process of the institution “for 60 days without the possibility of extension, counting from the notification of the penalty”.

Likewise, it was announced that the Guayaquil club will abide by this resolution and that the board of directors will adopt measures in this regard.

Below is the official statement published on the Barcelona SC website:

We inform our members and fans that today, August 28, 2023, we have been legally notified of the written judgment, issued within the constitutional process of the Protective Procedure initiated by Mr. JFCV, against Barcelona Sporting Club.

It states that the constitutional judge decided to suspend the electoral process of the institution for 60 days without the possibility of extension, counting from the notification of the punishment; with the aim that any of the partners who are qualified for it can apply under equal conditions and carry out election campaigning.

Therefore, Barcelona Sporting Club, far from being satisfied with the adopted resolution, we must respect and adhere to the above judgment.

Finally, the Board of Directors of the Barcelona Sports Club will also be aware of it, so that body can adopt and arbitrate the measures that are justified, in relation to the electoral process of our institution. (D)
