The Russian national football team will play a friendly match with Egypt in September
The Secretary General of the Egyptian Football Association, Walid El-Attar, announced a friendly match with the Russian national team. His words are quoted by Sport-Express.
“I can confirm the information about the friendly match with the Russian team in Egypt. We already have specific dates – September 7 and 11, ”El-Attar said.
On August 16, the Russian Football Union (RFU) reported that they were also negotiating with the Bahrain team. The organization emphasized that they would announce the match as soon as the contract for its holding was signed.
On February 28, 2022, the International Football Federation and the Union of European Football Associations excluded Russian teams and clubs from international tournaments. The teams do not play in European competitions, and the Russian team has lost the opportunity to fight for reaching the finals of the 2022 World Cup.
