The players of the youth hockey club “Tolpar” spoke about the forced doping in the team. This is reported by the Baza edition in Telegram.
Athletes said that suspicious injections were prescribed by physical training coach Igor Zagretdinov. The players noted that they tried to resist, but Zagretdinov threatened them with career problems. In this regard, the team’s doctor Artem Taran had a conflict with a specialist, but the club’s management did not interfere in the situation.
On April 7, it became known that seven Tolpar players had tested positive for doping. It was reported that we are talking about meldonium. The names of the players in whose samples the prohibited drug was found were not specified.
“Tolpar” is the youth team of the Russian club “Salavat Yulaev” playing in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). In the 2022/2023 season, the Ufa players flew to the quarterfinals of the playoffs of the Eastern Conference of the JHL.
