In Egypt, approved the idea to hold a friendly match with the Russian national football team
A member of the technical department of the Egyptian Football Association, Ehab El Komi, spoke about holding a match with the Russian team. His words are quoted by Sport24.
“We welcome the idea of holding a friendly match against Russia in the future, but not this year. This fall, we have already approved the schedule of games,” Komi said.
On August 16, the Russian Football Union (RFU) reported that they were negotiating with the Bahrain team. The organization emphasized that they would announce the match as soon as the contract for its holding was signed.
On February 28, 2022, the International Football Federation and the Union of European Football Associations excluded Russian teams and clubs from international tournaments. The teams do not play in European competitions, and the Russian team has lost the opportunity to fight for reaching the finals of the 2022 World Cup.
