8 out of 10 Peruvians are happy in their workplaces, according to a study

More and more companies are seeking to integrate happiness at work as a fundamental element for the success of the organization. Recently, a study revealed that eight out of ten Peruvians state that they are happy in their workplacesaccording to Buk’s 2023 Building Happiness survey.

According to the report, the happiest companies are those that show a greater sense of belonging on the part of their collaborators and in which relationships between people are healthy and trustworthy. But why should organizations contribute to the happiness and well-being of their workers?

The pursuit of happiness at work also brings benefits to the organization. At the individual level, happy employees show higher levels of proactivity and creativity; commitment and performance explains Buk’s report.

“Measuring happiness at work is essential to managing a healthy office environment. Let’s remember that having happy employees has a positive impact on performance, the work environment and the achievement of objectives”, explains Sebastián Ausin, Buk’s country manager in Peru.

What is the emotional salary?

Emotional salary is any compensation for work that goes beyond monetary salary and that is relevant to the well-being and satisfaction of people, such as professional development opportunities, labor flexibility, public recognition, awards, additional days off, etc. among other non-financial aspects.

Thus, these policies, practices and initiatives nurture and strengthen the affective bond between the organization and its people, Therefore, it creates a positive and supportive work environment, which generates belonging and pride in the collaborators.

“One of the main objectives of the emotional salary is to help employees achieve a balance between work and personal life, balancing aspects such as family conciliation, continuous training, physical and emotional well-being, among others”concludes Sebastián Ausin, Buk’s country manager in Peru.
