Alavés beat Sevilla de Mendilibar in a crazy game (4-3)

Deportivo Alavés has achieved its first victory of the season by beating Sevilla in Mendizorrotza, in the match corresponding to the second day of LaLiga EASports. Luis Rioja, Abdel Abqar, Erik Lamela, Rubén Duarte, Kike García (2) and Rafa Mir have been, in this order, the authors of the seven goals of the match.

Summary of the Alavés-Sevilla match

Luis García Plaza’s men had a nice exchange, with a 2-2 draw at half-time, against a Sevilla that showed its competitive gene in the European Super Cup, but in the League they did not compete against Valencia and neither in their second defeat this time in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

Sevilla got up from the first blow, but was no longer capable of the following ones. Luis Riojatop scorer last year in the promotion, scored after seven minutes with a good left foot, but José Luis Mendilibar’s men had a good reaction, as their presentation had been good despite conceding so early.

Those from Nervión found options from set pieces, and also the 1-1 for Abqar at own door.

Alavés did not stop with that goal either and had good chances with Kike García, Guridi and again Rioja. The punch was through neighborhoods and it was Sevilla’s turn with a lick it that after one to the post he sent another to the net.

The comeback lasted three minutes for ‘Mendi’, due to another kick from Duarte, the locals finishing the first half better. Sevilla moved the bench in the changing rooms, with the entry of Fernando and Adrià Pedrosa, but Alavés made a good break for the Andalusians with a stellar couple like Rioja and Kike Garcia.

The new Alavés striker signed two goals in five minuteswith two assists from the Sevillian midfielder.

The visiting team helped by failing a lot in defense and their reaction was not that of a Champions League team that seems halfway through with the season already started. Mendilibar’s men cut back with a great goal from Rafa Mir.
