In Rotterdam, after the painful defeat against Netherlands, the Spanish men’s wheelchair basketball team had two emphatic victories that qualified them for the quarterfinals. The defeat before Germanyplaced them third in the group, so in the quarterfinals they faced Türkiye and they ended up imposing themselves with suffering.

In the semifinals the host was waiting, some Netherlands who had already beaten them in the group stage, but this time, they managed to prevail. With the ticket for the Games in their pocket, in the final they faced their great rival, Britain. Despite starting well, the British had no choice in the last part and took the gold.
