The head of the Russian Football Union (RFU), Alexander Dyukov, appreciated the transfer of midfielder Arsen Zakharyan to the Spanish Real Sociedad. His comment is reported by RIA Novosti.
Dyukov said that the departure of the midfielder was a loss for the Russian Premier League (RPL). “I hope this will give impetus to its development. Let’s hope that he will succeed in the new championship. On the other hand, this suggests that the players playing with us are still of interest to other championships, ”he added.
Zakharyan moved to Real Sociedad on 19 August. The contract with the 20-year-old midfielder is for five years until the end of the 2028/2029 season.
Prior to that, for three years, the athlete played for Dynamo Moscow. This season, he has played five matches for the blue and white in all competitions, in which he scored two goals and one assist. Portal Transfermarkt estimates the value of the Russian at 15 million euros.
