Two games closed the 14th round of the Bundesliga this Sunday. While Borussia Monchengladbach were thrashed by Freiburg 6-0, Stuttgart drew 2-2 with Hertha Berlin.
The first duel was for Freiburg’s domain. The team opened the scoring after two minutes, with Maximilian Eggestein, and extended it to five minutes with Kevin Schade headed. At 12 and 19, Philipp Lienhart and Nicolas Hofler hit the net.
At 25, after a free kick, Hofler left his second in the match. Before going down to the locker rooms, Borussia also saw Nico Schlotterbeck score the sixth goal. He won in the ball dispute after a free kick and headed in the left side.
With the victory, Freiburg climbs to fourth place, with 25 points. Borussia, in turn, is 13th with 18 added.
The second match had the busiest first half. The score was opened in the 15th minute with a great goal from Omar Marmoush, who pulled the counterattack and puffed up the net for Stuttgart. Soon after, at 19, Philipp Forster was fired at the entrance to the area and sent a bomb in the right corner.
To cash in, Stevan Jovetic appeared at 40 and fired a beautiful shot from outside the area. Finally, at the 31st minute of the second stage, Ishak Belfodil found Jovetic, who again puffed up the net and declared the tie 2-2.
With the result, both teams remain in the same position. Stuttgart is 15th with 14 points and Hertha is just below with 15.
