President of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) Viktor Maigurov spoke about the prize money for the 2023/2024 season. His words leads “Championship”.
The head of the RRF said that the total amount of payments will remain at the level of the previous season and amount to 70 million rubles. “Yes, our prize money is less than the international one, but most athletes earned more prize money that year than in the international season,” he said.
Earlier, biathlete Dmitry Shamaev, who played for the Romanian national team, spoke about the attitude of foreigners towards Russians at international tournaments. “Acquaintances from France, Germany, Lithuania in training or after the race said that they were waiting for the Russian team. At the same time, some give interviews where they say that everything is correct and should be removed, ”he said.
Russians and Belarusians did not participate in international tournaments in the 2022/2023 season by decision of the International Biathlon Union (IBU). The order came into effect in March 2022 and will remain in effect until further notice.
