Vinícius Jr. scores and Real Madrid beats Real Sociedad away from home by Espanyol

O Real Madrid beat Real Sociedad 2-0 this Sunday at the Anoeta Stadium, in the Basque Country. The highlight of the match valid for the 16th round of the spanish championship was the Brazilian Vinícius Jr, scorer of the first goal of the meringues.

The first stage was marked by the injury of Karim Benzema, who left the field in the 18th minute for Luka Jovic’s entry. The French striker is Real’s great technical reference in recent seasons.

Madrid’s first goal was scored by Vinícius Jr, two minutes into the second stage, after a pass by Jovic. The Serbian striker was the one who scored in the second goal with assistance from Casemiro, 10 minutes later.

With this result, Real continues to lead the national tournament, with 39 points. The meringues are eight points ahead of Sevilla, in second place. Real Sociedad remains in fifth place, with 29.

Earlier, Atlético de Madrid lost to Mallorca by 2-1, at Wanda Metropolitano. With this result, Atleti is in 5th place, with 29 points, while Mallorca rises to 12th place, with 19.
