Hoffenheim visited Lubeck this Monday, at the Dietmar-Scholze stadium, for the first round of the German Cup, and won the comeback by 4-1. The goals were scored by Gzusirin for the home team and Kramaric (2), Marius Butler and Julian Justvan for the visitors. The result qualified the winner for the next stage of the competition.

On Saturday, Hoffenheim debut in the Bundesliga against Freiburg, at 10:30 am (Brasília time), at home. Lubeck will visit Waldhof Mannheim, also on Saturday, for the second match of the German third division.

The game

Contrary to expectations, Lubeck started by giving Hoffenheim’s defense a boost and even put the ball on the crossbar after an unpretentious cross. Soon after, the visitors had two opportunities to open the scoring, but the best of them came in the 23rd minute, with a strong shot by Grillitsch that ended up in the hands of the opposing goalkeeper.

The best chance for the home team came after an accurate cross from the number 10 Farrona to Facklam, who headed it alone and hit the crossbar by Baumann. Lubeck opened the scoring in the 34th minute with Gozusirin after a good penalty kick and put the hosts in front, but Hoffenheim managed to tie with Kramaric in the 44th, after an individual play and a kick in the drawer: 1-1 at halftime.

In the second half, the game restarted lukewarm, without many clear chances for both sides. That was until the 13th minute, when Hoffenheim turned the game around with a penalty goal scored by Kramaric, his second in the match. At 25 minutes, the visitors killed the game with Marius Butler: the number 21 entered the side of the area and ended up in the back of the net. To seal the classification, Julian Justvan scored the fourth a few minutes later and decreed the rout.
