Raphinha is expelled, and Barcelona draws goalless in the opening of the Spanish Championship

This Sunday, the Barcelona visited Getafe for the first round of the Spanish Championship and scored a goalless draw. The game was marked by having two expulsions. In the 42nd minute of the first half, Brazilian Raphinha received a red card after hitting his arm in his opponent’s face. In the 12th minute of the final stage, Jaime Mata was sent off by Getafe, nullifying his team’s numerical advantage.

The current champion of La Liga crushed the opponent, had 76% of possession, finished 14 times, but failed in the aim and hit the opponent’s goal in only four opportunities.

With the result, both clubs start the Spanish Championship in the middle of the table. Barcelona is tenth, while Getafe sleeps in 11th, both with one point. The first round is still incomplete, however, and will be finished on Monday afternoon.

Barcelona’s next match is on Sunday, at 2:30 pm (BrasĂlia time), against CĂĄdiz at home. Getafe, on the other hand, faces Girona, away from their domains, also on Sunday, at 12:30 pm.
