Neymar signs a two-year deal with Jorge Jesus’ team in Saudi Arabia

Striker Neymar is getting closer and closer to defining his future. According to the French newspaper L’Équipe, the 31-year-old Brazilian star would be agreed with Al-Hilal, Jorge Jesus’ team in Saudi Arabia, and could leave Paris Saint-Germain soon.

The contract presented to the player would have a salary of 160 million euros (about R$ 860 million) divided into two years of contract. Thus, Neymar would receive approximately R$ 36 million per month in the Saudi team, which would represent double the monthly salaries in the Parisian club.

Now, for the negotiation to be completed, Al-Hilal will talk to PSG to reach an agreement for the release of the attacker. The French club does not intend to make it difficult for its athlete to leave, but understands that it needs a high financial compensation for the amount invested during the player’s passage.

Neymar was not included in Paris Saint-Germain’s debut in the French Championship against Lorient, which took place on Saturday, and ended 0-0. The Brazilian star was also left out of most of the Parisians’ pre-season friendlies, playing just one game.

So the most expensive transfer in history, Neymar arrived at PSG in August 2017 from Barcelona in a negotiation that revolved around 222 million euros (R$ 800 million at the time). Even without winning the much dreamed French title – the Champions League – the star won 14 cups: five French Championships, three French Cups, four French Super Cups and two League Cups.

Saudi Arabia must, therefore, have one more star of world football in its local football. Currently, the league has big names like Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino, among others. Al-Hilal was runner-up in the Arab Champions Cup on Saturday, losing to Al-Nassr, CR7’s team, who scored two goals in the final.
