Former fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov called the 2022 World Cup final the best match in the history of football
Former champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Khabib Nurmagomedov called the best match in the history of football. His words are conveyed by Gorilla Fighting on Instagram (social network banned in Russia; owned by Meta Corporation, recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation).
The ex-fighter said that he was at the 2018 World Cup final in Russia, but chose a different match.
“The final in 2022 at the Qatari World Cup showed that for me this match was the best ever. And in my life, this is also the emotionally best match that I watched, ”he said. Nurmagomedov added that Lionel Messi got a happy ending like in Indian films or Turkish TV shows.
The Argentina national team, captained by Messi, defeated France and won the trophy for the third time in history. Regular time ended with the score 2:2. In extra time, the teams scored one more goal. In the penalty shootout, Argentina turned out to be stronger – 4: 2.
Nurmagomedov defended his UFC lightweight title three times before retiring. In total, the athlete won 29 victories in 29 professional fights.
