Fedor Emelianenko wanted to have a boxing match with Mike Tyson
Former mixed martial artist (MMA) Fedor Emelianenko spoke about his desire to take part in a boxing match. His words are quoted by The MMA Hour.
“I will never return to MMA because it is a promise. But I would like to try myself in boxing, I’m interested in it, ”he said. Emelianenko said he would like to fight Mike Tyson.
On February 5, Emelianenko lost to Ryan Bader by knockout in the first round. The fight, which led the Bellator 290 tournament and became a farewell for the Russian, was held in heavyweight.
The defeat was the seventh in Emelianenko’s career. He has 40 victories to his credit, another fight with his participation was declared invalid. The Russian owned the titles of champion organizations Pride and RINGS.
Tyson retired in 2005. From 1987 to 1990 he was the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. Tyson spent 58 fights in which he won 50 victories (44 by knockout) and suffered six defeats. Two more fights with his participation were declared invalid.
