This Friday, Ralf Rangnick, hired to coach Manchester United until the end of the current season, gave his first interviews as the captain of the English club. The German highlighted the star Cristiano Ronaldo, but stressed that the focus will be on the collective.
“You always have to adapt to the players you have. Seeing Ronaldo at 36, I’ve never seen someone so good at 36. But it’s not just about him, it’s about developing the cast as a whole,” the coach told a news conference.
Rangnick also spoke about what he hopes to achieve with the United team in the near term. The coach designed the team with more “control” in the games.
“That’s probably the biggest goal for the coming weeks, to help the team get control of the game. I’ve seen the games against Liverpool and Manchester City, against Chelsea at least we got a point, and even against teams like Watford, the team they didn’t have control. They didn’t have control in the game and that’s something we’ll try to achieve,” he said to the club’s official channels.
