Several leaders who attended the session complained that Bastidas did not apply what the Sports Law determines and he wanted to impose what the FEDA statutes say.
EL UNIVERSO newspaper he consulted Bastidas about the process and did not respond. He limited himself to replying via WhatsApp: “To avoid versions, we hire a NotaryTomorrow (Wednesday, December 1) your notarial certification will be released and there I will be able to respond officially, apart from that there was also (in the assembly) the overseer of the Ecuadorian Olympic Committee ”.
But the national director in an interview with radio Network of Quito on the application of the norms in the elections said: “We rely on what our statutes say. We give ourselves no more than three months to call the elections. I hope that the first week of February we can organize them ”.
Asked about the signed sheet of the attendees that his brother Jaime took, the manager indicated that “it is not part of the FEDA “ (as a manager). “I am not a candidate for any position (he supports his brother). Carlos Guerrero he is the secretary of the federation and he is also the president of a high-performance club ”.
Bastidas said: “The secretary of the FEDA, Carlos Guerrero Fuentes, He refused to continue with the points of the day. We tried to keep the assembly going, but we couldn’t. As an official entity, we refer to the official communications. We started on time, the conditions were met. I will not be able to technically explain what happened”.
In relation to the suspension of the assembly, he stated: “It was suspended due to lack of origin, interruptions of the other candidacy.”
Reactions
Marco Menendez, third main member of the FEDA, said that “the elections did not take place because the FEDA has a statute approved many years ago ” and He ratified that what the Sports Law says must be complied with.
For his part, Secretary Guerrero on the failed election stated: “Mr. Bastidas asked for some requirements that were not related to the document sent by the Ministry of Sports, who had given it to him. There was no consensus and he (Emilio Bastidas) postponed the assembly ”.
Guerrero said that that day he received the document from the Ministry of Sports, which recalled the guidelines that must be met for the election in an Ecuadorian by sport. “They sent me the document and I understand that what the Sports Law determines must be complied with”.
“Mr. Jaime Bastidas took the document and I told him that it could not leave the FEDA facilities and he told me that he was taking it. There was a confusion, but it seems a little strange to me and I hope there is no malice for his act ”.
Regarding the accusation of being secretary of the FEDA and president of his club, Guerrero replied: “Where does it say that I I can’t be secretary and president of my club. Why didn’t he say that earlier when he was going to get to the board of directors as president.
