Coach Zhulin said that all over the world there are methods to encourage judges in figure skating
Honored coach of Russia Alexander Zhulin, in an interview with Alexander Dobrovinsky’s YouTube channel, spoke about bribes in figure skating.
“There are methods to encourage referees all over the world. And Russian judges, and the countries of the former socialist camp, the CIS countries – they do not fatten. And if you make them a good offer, then such options cannot be ruled out, ”said the coach. He emphasized that such cases are unprovable, but they exist.
Zhulin added that if he does not encourage the judges, he will certainly put himself in a losing position. “I didn’t say I was doing it, it’s…a hypothetical example. I reason. You are a smart person,” he concluded.
Zhulin performed in ice dancing with Maya Usova. The couple won bronze medals at the 1992 Olympics and silver at the 1994 Games. Later, Zhulin began to train dance couples. His students were Tatyana Navka and Roman Kostomarov, who won gold at the 2006 Olympics, as well as Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov, who received silver medals at the 2022 Games.
