Ivorian striker Wilfried Zaha leaves Crystal Palace and signs with Galatasaray

Ivorian striker Wilfried Zaha, a former Crystal Palace player, has signed with Galatasaray this Monday, after thirteen seasons in the Premier League, announced the Istanbul club.

“A deal has been reached (…) for three seasons,” Turkish champions Galatasaray confirmed in a statement.

The 30-year-old, who was also a Fenerbahçe target, will receive €4.35 million (R$22.5 million at current prices) per season plus a signing bonus of €2.33 million (R$12.19 million), Galatasaray said.

With the exception of fifteen appearances for Manchester United and Cardiff City between 2013 and 2014, Zaha has remained loyal to Crystal Palace since his debut as a professional in 2010.

For the South London team, he scored 90 goals in 458 games.

The Ivorian could share Galatasaray’s attack with Argentine Mauro Icardi, whose permanent transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to the Istanbul club after a season on loan seems very close, according to the Turkish press.

He will also play with Congolese and former Villarreal player Cédric Bakambu, who signed from Galatasaray on Sunday.
