Ukrainian Reislin refused to fight with Vadim Anokhin at the World Fencing Championship
Ukrainian epee fencer Igor Reyzlin refused to fight with Russian Vadim Anokhin at the 2023 Fencing World Championships. It is reported by Ua.tribuna.
The meeting was to take place on July 24 at 12:00 Moscow time. Reislin’s name was on the list of participants in the individual épée, but disappeared from it shortly before the duel.
The tournament takes place in Milan from 22 to 25 July. At the World Championships, fencers compete for points to advance in the world rankings, which will determine the participants in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
On July 23, Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Vadym Gutzeit said that Ukrainians should take part in the qualifying competitions for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. In January, the official said that the Ukrainian team could miss the 2024 Olympics if the teams of Russia and Belarus participate in it.
