England striker Harvey Barnes has left Leicester, a club that was relegated to the second division, to sign with Newcastle, the two English clubs announced this Sunday (23).
According to the British press, the value of the transfer reaches around 44 million euros (234 million reais at current quotations).
Once called up to the England squad, the 25-year-old signed a five-year contract with Newcastle, a club on the rise since their purchase two years ago by a Saudi sovereign wealth fund.
Newcastle were fourth in the Premier League last season and will return to play in the Champions League twenty years after their last participation in the tournament.
With the arrival of Barnes, Frenchman Allan Saint-Maximin looks increasingly out of Newcastle and rumors place him at Al Ahli, Saudi Arabia.
