Slovenian hockey player Jan Drozg said that his performance in the KHL is welcomed at home
Slovenian striker of the Khabarovsk “Amur” Jan Drozg spoke about how his homeland refers to his performances in the Continental Hockey League (KHL). It is reported by TASS.
According to the player, in Slovenia they try not to politicize sports issues. “The Federation allows all players to participate in the national team at the World Cup. If I want to play in the KHL or, for example, in Canada, then there are no problems with this, ”Drozg said.
He also noted that he did not communicate with the sports leadership of his country after the extension of the contract with Amur. “The Slovenian Federation welcomes hockey players to play in Russia, as there is a good match practice for the hockey team,” Drozg added.
On August 25 last year, the Czech Ice Hockey Federation announced that it would not call up players from Russian clubs to the national team. Similar statements were made in Slovakia, Finland and Sweden.
