CSKA goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev set a record for the Russian Championships. This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.
37-year-old Akinfeev defended the team’s goal in the first round match of the Russian Premier League (RPL) against Ural. Thus, he began his 21st season within the tournament. The previous record – 20 seasons – belonged to midfielder Dmitry Loskov and defender Alexander Anyukov.
Earlier on July 22, CSKA lost to Ural 1:2. Timur Ayupov and Daniel Mishkic scored against Ural. The only goal of the army team was scored by forward Anton Zabolotny. The Red-Blues lost to the Yekaterinburg club for the first time since 1995.
Akinfeev is a graduate of CSKA, he has been playing in the main team of the club since 2003. Together with the army team, the goalkeeper won the UEFA Cup, six championships of Russia and seven Cups and Supercups of the country.
