Finnish hockey player Janne Laakkonen spoke about the addiction of Russians to alcohol. His words are quoted by Iltalehti.
“In Russia, hockey players cannot have free time, because for Russian players this means vodka,” the striker said. He admitted that the leadership of the “South Ural”, for which he played, forced the team’s players to hold morning meetings on weekends so that drinking did not get out of control.
The forward played in the Higher Hockey League for Yuzhny Ural in the 2014/2015 season. He is also known for his performances in Kazakhstan for “Arystan” and “Kulager” and in Belarus for “Neman”.
On January 11, former Salavat Yulaev Ufa striker Jim Montgomery spoke about his fear of Russian toilets. The specialist recalled how he was traveling with Salavat to Magnitogorsk by bus from Ufa and at the bus stop, instead of a toilet cubicle, there was a hole in the ground, which he was unable to use.
