Sport-Express: Ferencvaros will pay compensation to coach Cherchesov for breaking the contract
Russian coach Stanislav Cherchesov has officially formalized his departure from the Hungarian Ferencváros. Details appeared at Sport-Express.
According to the source, the 59-year-old specialist signed documents on early termination of labor relations with the club. Cherchesov and his coaching staff will be compensated for breaking the contract. At the moment, the coach says goodbye to the players and hands over to the shifts in Budapest.
Ferencváros President Gabor Kubatov announced Cherchesov’s dismissal on July 19. The resignation came amid the club’s failure to qualify for the second round of Champions League qualification.
On July 19, Ferencvaros was defeated by the Faroe Klaksvik with a score of 0:3 during the return match of the first qualifying round of the tournament. The first meeting of the teams ended in a goalless draw.
Cherchesov took charge of Ferencvaros in December 2021. Under his leadership, the team twice became the champion of Hungary, and also won the Hungarian Cup.
