Last Wednesday, Gustavo Scarpa found himself at the center of rumors about a possible return to Brazil, on loan, after losing ground at Nottingham Forest, in England. This Thursday (20), the former player of palm trees used social media to deny any chance of a comeback for now.
In his first season in English football, the midfielder – who has a contract until the middle of 2026 – made 10 matches: six for the Premier League, three for the English League Cup and one for the FA Cup. He didn’t score a goal in any of them.
“Galera travels in lies. Lack of things to do, that must be it”, had already stated the athlete. “Scarpinha is very happy here in England. May this season be much better than last”, he added.
Scarpa left Verdão at the end of the 2022 season.
In all, the midfielder accumulated 233 matches for Palmeiras, in addition to 44 goals and 56 assists. In terms of titles, he has two liberators (2020 and 2021), two Brazilians (2018 and 2022), two paulistas (2020 and 2022), a Brazil’s Cup (2020) and a Recopa (2022).
