Klishina, who moved to the USA, said that she does not feel nostalgic for Russia
Athlete Daria Klishina, who moved to the United States, spoke about her feeling of nostalgia for Russia. Her words are quoted by Sports.ru.
“There is no nostalgia as such. I still have friends in Russia, we communicate very often. Mom and dad are always on video call, plus they fly twice a year to America, ”said the athlete. She added that once a year she comes to Russia.
Klishina also answered a question about continuing her career. “The priority right now is family. There is no motivation to return to the level at which I was. I train for myself because I want to keep fit, ”she said, noting that she would find motivation if Russian athletes were allowed to participate in the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
Klishina moved to the US in 2013, where she has lived and trained ever since. The athlete is a two-time European champion and a silver medalist of the 2017 World Championship. She took part in the Tokyo Olympics, but failed to reach the final of the tournament, having been injured during the qualification.
