The UFC announced that the rematch between Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira will be held on October 21 in Abu Dhabi
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) announced in Twitter the date of the rematch between the Russian champion of the promotion Islam Makhachev and the Brazilian mixed martial artist (MMA) Charles Oliveira.
The bout will take place at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi on October 21st. Also this evening, the Swedish fighter of Chechen origin Khamzat Chimaev will fight with the Brazilian Paulo Costa, and the Russian Nassurdin Imavov with compatriot Ikram Aliskerov.
Makhachev defeated Oliveira on the night of October 23, 2022 at UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi. The Russian defeated his opponent with a choke hold and became the lightweight champion of the organization.
During his career, 31-year-old Makhachev suffered one defeat and won 24 victories (12 of them in a row). Oliveira, 33, has 34 wins and 9 losses. Another fight with his participation was declared invalid.
