The 184.9 kilometer route starts from moûtiers to end in Bourg-en-Bresse.
The profile is practically flat, although with two small difficulties along the way, both far from the finish line: The Côte de Chambery-le-Hautwhich is 1.6 kilometers long and has an average slope of 4.1%, and the Boisseu Coast, a climb of 2.4 kilometers with an average gradient of 4.7%. From there there will still be almost 80 kilometers to the finish line.
